Get on the Bus (GOTB)

Buses from all parts of the State bring the children of the incarcerated to five prisons for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  Volunteers “sponsor” buses through a church or organization, raising funding for buses, gathering items needed for the children (teddy bears, toys, etc.), working with the children’s families to ensure that necessary documents are in place and that transportation to the bus is available, as well as riding the buses with the families.  Visit for more information. Chowchilla Family Express (CFE)

Buses from all parts of the State provide free monthly transportation for people to visit their loved ones in the Chowchilla women’s prisons.  Hospitality Bus Leaders (HBL) are needed to welcome visitors at loading site, check documents, keep passengers informed during the bus trip, and be present during visiting hours inside the prison.  An honorarium of $150 is paid by the State.
